Twenty of the country’s most talented handymen and women arrive to face the challenge of a lifetime: competing for a $10,000 SEAR’S prize package, an HGTV development deal and the opportunity to be declared the next All American Handyman. The first elimination challenge is simple: contestants must create anything they want from two pieces of plywood, showcasing their imagination and skills. The three who most fail to impress the judges will be eliminated. But the remaining seventeen aren’t in the clear yet. They must now go head to head in a second elimination challenge: executing a beautifully designed, perfectly functioning garden fence gate based on nothing more than two standing posts and the material available. The three handymen who do the poorest job will be dismissed, and the remaining fourteen will move one step closer to winning the All American Handyman title.
